Looking back, going forward

The second part of last season was quite encouraging with victories at Chrono Gatineau and Chrono des Nations (both UCI 1.1 time-trials). It was a much needed boost to my self-confidence which, quite frankly, had taken a bit of a hit after a difficult first part of the season. However, the difficult first part was also a great learning experience and I hope to build on this experience in the future.

Chrono des Nations - ending the season on a high!

What’s next? Winter training has been going well - I particularly enjoyed my training camp in Moraira, Spain close to Calpe - and I’m now looking forward to the first road races with my team Roland. (The team changed its name from last year and some of the sponsors, in particular we will ride Pinarello bikes.)

A highlight for me this year will of course be the Olympic Games in Paris and the qualification for it. Austria has two spots for both the time-trial and the road race. I’d absolutely love to represent my country in my favorite discipline, the time-trial!

I don’t have a concrete racing schedule for 2024 yet, but probably it will be similar to last year with the Ardennes, a big racing block in Spain (Vuelta, Itzulia, Durango) and the Tour de Suisse on the menu for the first part of the season.
